Instead of crowding your desktop with a dozen of apps just to deal with your media files, Blaze Media Pro offers you an all-in-one software program with all the features you will ever need to convert, create, and edit your video and audio files. It supports all the most common formats and offers you a wealth of media-related tools and functions.
As soon as you open the program, it becomes evident that it has been designed putting an emphasis on the functionality, rather than on the interface itself. None of the windows that open when you click on one of its many options improve this first impression, but don’t let its outdated looks deceive you – it is its functionality that makes it stand out from its competitors.
It is a pity that only the audio-related features are open for testing in the trial version of the program, even though they’re enough to keep you entertained for a while. All the most widely used lossless and lossy, compressed and uncompressed audio formats are well represented (WAV, MP3, ALAC, FLAC, AC3, WMA, Ogg, etc.), and you can convert between any of them in a simple and efficient way. You can batch-convert as many files as required, and customize the format-specific settings provided so that the resulting files fit your requirements.
The audio editor itself is probably the most comprehensive of all the tools the trial version offers. It is a full-featured waveform-based editor that will let you restore, improve, enhance, merge, split, copy or extract (among many other functions) any of your supported audio files with a few clicks of your mouse. Files can also be tagged using the program’s basic ID3 tag editor and burnt to CD either as data or music files.
The audio recorder is equally comprehensive, yet less attractive than the flashy audio editor. Here you can create new WAV, WMA, MP3, and Ogg audio files using your PC’s microphone or the internal soundcard, which will let you save any streaming audio playing on your computer as well. You can also merge and split audio files, create playlists, or simply listen to your favorite tracks without leaving Blaze Media Pro. The program interface offers also options to convert, edit, construct, and decompile video files, for which you require to purchase the corresponding license.
As it happens with many of these all-in-one software tools, the looks and quality of the many functions the program offers vary from feature to feature. In this case, nearly all of those we could review were of an excellent quality, especially the audio editing and recording utilities. If the remaining options happen to be of a similar quality, this is certainly a serious tool to consider.
Record streaming audio from your computer to either wav or mp3 formats.
